Recently, GAC Toyota unveiled the highly anticipated 2024 ToyotaWildlander
which officially launched featuring an impressive lineup of 11 distinct models.
In terms of design, the Wildlander boasts a unique and striking aesthetic to distinguish itself from FAW Toyota Rongfang. The most noticeable difference lies in the front design; despite a similar trapezoidal air intake grille, Wildlander's grille is larger, exuding a Lexus spindle air intake grille vibe. Additionally, Wildlander's headlights have a sleek, 'squinting' look, and the fog lights feature a larger, imitation air intake design, adding to its distinctive style.
While the front face of the Wildlander sets it apart with its bold design, the side and rear shapes share similarities with the RAV4. The most notable difference in the rear includes a ring-shaped internal taillight design and a fog light at the lower end of the rear bumper. Both the fuel and hybrid models feature a dual-sided exhaust layout.
In terms of dimensions, the Wildlander measures at 4665 mm in length, 1855 mm in width, and 1680 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2690 mm. These dimensions place it within the mainstream segment, aligning closely with the Rongfang, though slight differences arise from their distinct shapes.
Inside, the Wildlander's interior mirrors that of the Rongfang, featuring a multi-linear design for the center control, which is visually straightforward and functionally segmented. The 10.1-inch center control screen adopts a floating design. For interior colors, options include both dark and light-colored versions.
The entry-level 2024 Toyota Wildlander (2.0-liter CVT two-drive lead) maintains the same pricing while introducing new features like front and rear parking radar, and the TSS Toyota Intelligence Safety System, encompassing full-speed adaptive cruise, lane-keeping assist, departure warning, and active braking.
The premium model of the 2024 Toyota Wildlander includes further enhancements such as 360-degree panoramic imaging, electric rear doors, heated and ventilated front seats, 4G network connectivity, mobile app remote control, and a HUD head-up display system.
One of the standout features is the Safety configuration: the entire Wildlander range comes standard with 7 SRS airbags, without reducing the number even in lower configurations. It also includes the latest generation of Toyota TSS 2.0 safety technology. In the China Insurance Automobile Safety Index crash tests, Toyota's TNGA products, including GAC Toyota's Leiling (Levin) and Camry, have received high scores.
The Wildlander offers three powertrain options: a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine, a 2.5-liter gas-electric hybrid, and a 2.5-liter plug-in hybrid. The fuel version includes a 2.0-liter engine delivering a maximum power of 126 kW and a maximum torque of 209 Nm, paired with a CVT transmission. The 2.5-liter hybrid system offers 163 kW, EV pure electric mode, and the E-Four all-wheel-drive system. The high-performance plug-in hybrid version features a 2.5-liter engine with a maximum power of 132 kW and torque of 224 Nm, along with an electric motor producing 134 kW and 270 Nm, paired with an E-CVT transmission.
