On May 28, 2024, the Seal 06 DM-i, a cutting-edge mid-sized sedan from BYD's Ocean series, was officially unveiled. This innovative vehicle harnesses the fifth generation of DM-i technology and is offered in two pure electric range variants, 80 km and 120 km. The car's impressive dimensions are 4830 mm in length, 1875 mm in width, and 1495 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2790 mm. Choose from 16-inch, 17-inch, and 18-inch rims to complement its sleek design. The front features an integrated diversion fin and a prominent 'big mouth' grille, while the side sports a semi-hidden door handle. The rear showcases a through-light design with a blackened light shell.
The Seal 06 DM-i boasts a through-light taillight ensemble, complete with a newly designed interior and an illuminating 'BYD' logo. Its rear design harmonizes with the front, incorporating a diffuser and body-colored trim. Available in four stunning hues - Qinhai Green, Warm Smoke Tea, Atlantis Gray, and Snow White - this car is set to impress.
For endurance, the Seal 06 DM-i comes equipped with lithium iron phosphate blade batteries in two capacities: 10.08 KWh and 15.87 KWh, offering a pure electric range of 80 km and 120 km, respectively, under CLTC conditions. The comprehensive fuel consumption is remarkably low at 2.9 L/100 km and 3.08 L/100 km under NEDC conditions. Additionally, the 120 km variant supports 22 kW DC fast charging and 6.6 kW AC slow charging (comes with a 7 kW household charging pile), while the 80 km variant supports 3.3 kW AC slow charging.
In terms of configuration, the Seal 06 DM-i offers original ETC, six airbags, rear air outlets, and tire pressure monitoring. The 120 km model is further enhanced with a panoramic sunroof, DiPilot driver assistance system, remote airbag deployment, 4-way electric adjustment for the passenger seat, and a car tachograph. The top-tier model takes luxury a step further with an 8-speaker sound system, ventilated/heated front seats, 8-way electric adjustment with memory for the main seat, induction wipers, and a PM2.5 green cleaning system.
The Seal 06 DM-i is equipped with an 8.8-inch full LCD instrument panel, a 15.6-inch rotating entertainment host (supporting OTA remote online upgrades, CarPlay, mobile Internet functions, and online video viewing), a multi-functional steering wheel, ambient lighting, advanced audio, an electronic shift lever, and a wireless charging pad. The electric adjustable leather seats support 8-way electronic adjustment, showcasing the car's commitment to comfort and innovation.
The interior features a family-style design, boasting a D-type multifunction steering wheel, a floating LCD instrument panel, and a central control screen, all integrated with the DiLink intelligent network system. The central channel function area includes a crystal shift lever that combines automatic parking and driving mode buttons, enhancing the user's driving experience.
