Recently, GAC Toyota unveiled the 2024 Toyota Wildlander, a remarkable addition to their lineup.

The Wildlander showcases an innovative design, setting it apart from FAW Toyota's Rongfang, its close kin. The most notable distinction lies in its front fascia: despite both models featuring a trapezoidal air intake grille, the Wildlander's is more pronounced, reminiscent of the Lexus spindle grille. Its headlamps are narrower, exuding a sleek and intense gaze. Additionally, the front fog lights are designed with a larger, air intake-like aesthetic.
While the front of the Wildlander is unconventional and bold, the side and rear views share more similarities with the RAV4. The taillights have a unique ring shape internally, and the rear bumper features enhanced fog lights. Both the fuel and hybrid models feature a dual exhaust layout, adding to its robust aesthetic.
Measuring 4665 mm in length, 1855 mm in width, and 1680 mm in height, with a 2690 mm wheelbase, the Wildlander fits well within the mainstream segment, closely matching the dimensions of the Rongfang but with slight variations due to its distinctive design.
Inside, the Wildlander's interior mirrors that of the Rongfeng, with a sleek, multi-linear center console and a prominent 10.1-inch floating display. The functional partitions are clear, and the color scheme offers both dark and light options for customization.
The entry-level 2024 Toyota Wildlander (2.0-liter CVT two-drive lead) maintains a competitive price point, now enhanced with front and rear parking radars and the TSS Toyota Intelligence Safety System, which includes full-speed adaptive cruise, lane-keeping assist, departure warning, active braking, and more.
The premium model of the 2024 Toyota Wildlander boasts advanced features like 360-degree panoramic imaging, electric tailgate, heated and ventilated front seats, 4G connectivity, remote control via mobile App, and an HUD head-up display system.
A standout feature of the Wildlander is its comprehensive safety suite. Standard across all models are 7 SRS airbags, ensuring no reduction in safety for lower-tier configurations. The latest Toyota TSS (Toyota Safety System) 2.0 technology is onboard, contributing to the strong performance of Toyota TNGA products in crash tests by the China Insurance Automobile Safety Index, where models like the Leiling (Levin) and Camry (Camry) have consistently scored high marks.
The Wildlander is offered with three powertrains: a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine delivering 126 kW and 209 Nm of torque paired with a CVT transmission; a 2.5-liter gas-electric hybrid producing 163 kW with EV mode and E-Four four-wheel drive; and a high-performance 2.5-liter plug-in hybrid engine, generating 132 kW and 224 Nm, with an electric motor adding 134 kW and 270 Nm, all managed by an E-CVT transmission.
