On 28 May 2024, BYD Ocean proudly launched the Seal 06 DM-i, a revolutionary mid-sized car that epitomizes advanced automotive technology. This innovative vehicle features the fifth generation DM-i technology and offers two pure electric range options: 80 km and 120 km. Boasting dimensions of 4830 mm in length, 1875 mm in width, and 1495 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2790 mm, the Seal 06 DM-i is designed to impress. Available with 16-inch, 17-inch, and 18-inch rims, the car's front showcases an integrated diversion fin design and a prominent 'big mouth' front grille. The side profile is sleek with semi-hidden door handles, while the rear features a striking through-through taillight design with a blackened light shell.
The Seal 06 DM-i stands out with its exquisitely designed through-through taillight that includes a glowing 'BYD' logo. The rear design harmonizes with the front, incorporating a diffuser and body color trim. This spectacular car will be available in four stunning colors: Qinhai Green, Warm Smoke Tea, Atlantis Gray, and Snow White.
When it comes to endurance, the Seal 06 DM-i offers two lithium iron phosphate blade battery options with capacities of 10.08 KWH and 15.874 KWH. The pure electric range under CLTC conditions is 80 km and 120 km, respectively. The comprehensive fuel consumption under NEDC conditions is impressively low, at 2.9 liters and 3.08 liters per 100 km. The 120 km model supports 22 kW DC fast charging and 6.6 kW AC slow charging (a 7 kW household charging pile is included), while the 80 km model supports 3.3 kW AC slow charging.
The Seal 06 DM-i is packed with an array of advanced configurations. Standard features include original ETC, 6 airbags, rear air outlets, and tire pressure monitoring. The 120 km model additionally boasts a panoramic sunroof, DiPilot driver assistance system, remote airbag, 4-way electric passenger seat adjustment, and a car tachorecorder. The top model further enhances the experience with an 8-speaker system, ventilation/heating for front seats, 8-way electric main seat adjustment with memory, induction wipers, and a PM2.5 green cleaning system.
The Seal 06 DM-i offers an 8.8-inch full LCD instrument panel, a 15.6-inch rotating entertainment host that supports OTA remote online upgrades, Carplay, mobile internet functions, and online video viewing. It also features a multifunctional steering wheel, ambient lighting, premium audio, an electronic shift lever, and wireless charging pad. The luxurious electric adjustable leather seats support 8-way electric adjustment, making the Seal 06 DM-i's interior both refined and highly functional.
The interior of the Seal 06 DM-i embodies the family style, featuring a D-type multifunction steering wheel, a floating LCD instrument cluster, and a central control screen. It is equipped with the DiLink intelligent network connection system. The central channel function area includes a crystal shift lever with integrated automatic parking and driving mode buttons.
For safety, the Seal 06 DM-i is equipped with comprehensive advanced active safety features. These include automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane departure assistance, side blind spot detection, active cruise control, and a 360-degree camera with recording functionality. These features ensure a high level of safety for all occupants.
The power system of the Seal 06 DM-i is composed of a 1.5L engine paired with an electric motor. The 80 km pure electric range model features a motor with a maximum power of 120 kW and a 10.08 KWH lithium iron phosphate battery pack, with a fuel consumption of 2.9 L/100 km under NEDC conditions. The 120 km pure electric range model boasts a motor with a maximum power of 160 kW and a 15.87 KWH lithium iron phosphate battery pack, achieving a fuel consumption of 3.08 L/100 km under NEDC conditions.
