Recently, GAC Toyota unveiled the stunning 2024 Toyota
Wildlander
was officially launched, featuring an impressive lineup of 11 distinct models.
The Wildlander's design stands apart with its unique aesthetics, differentiating itself from its sibling, FAW Toyota Rongfang. The most notable distinction lies in the front design. While both feature a trapezoidal air intake grille, the Wildlander's variant is larger, evoking a Lexus spindle grille feel. Additionally, the headlights are narrower, lending a sharp and cold look. The fog lights also boast a larger faux air intake design, enhancing its bold appearance.
Despite the unconventional front, the side and rear profiles of the Wildlander do not diverge significantly from the RAV4. The taillights feature a distinctive ring shape, and the rear bumper incorporates additional fog lights. The exhaust system displays a dual-sided layout, consistent across both fuel and hybrid models.
Measuring 4665 mm in length, 1855 mm in width, and 1680 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2690 mm, the Wildlander's dimensions place it comfortably within the mainstream segment, closely mirroring the size of the Rongfang, albeit with some stylistic differences.
Inside, the Wildlander shares a similar design philosophy with the Rongfeng, featuring a multi-linear center console that is both visually simple and functionally distinct. The 10.1-inch floating center control screen stands out, and the interior color options include both dark and light variations.
The entry-level 2024 Toyota Wildlander (2.0-liter CVT two-wheel drive) is equipped with front and rear parking radar and the TSS Toyota Intelligent Safety System. This system encompasses full-speed adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, departure warning, active braking, and more.
The premium model of the 2024 Toyota Wildlander brings even more luxury with features like 360-degree panoramic cameras, electric rear doors, heated/ventilated front seats, 4G connectivity, mobile app remote control, and a HUD head-up display system.
Of particular note is the comprehensive safety configuration. The entire Wildlander lineup comes standard with 7 SRS airbags, ensuring no reduction in safety even in the lower configurations. It is also equipped with the latest generation Toyota TSS 2.0 safety technology. Toyota TNGA products, including GAC Toyota's Leiling and Camry, consistently achieve high marks in crash tests by the China Insurance Automotive Safety Index.
The Wildlander boasts three powertrain options: a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine, a 2.5-liter gas-electric hybrid, and a 2.5-liter plug-in hybrid. The 2.0-liter variant delivers 126 kW of power and 209 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT transmission. The 2.5-liter hybrid offers 163 kW of power, EV mode, and E-Four four-wheel drive. The high-performance plug-in hybrid version features a 2.5-liter engine with 132 kW of power and 224 Nm of torque, complemented by an electric motor providing 134 kW and 270 Nm of torque, coupled with an E-CVT transmission.
