The Wildlander showcases a distinctive and unique design, setting itself apart from the FAW Toyota Rongfang. The most notable difference lies in its front fascia: while both models feature a trapezoidal air intake grille, the Wildlander's is larger and evokes the sophisticated appearance of a Lexus spindle grille. Its narrow, 'squinting' headlights exude a cool, assertive demeanor, and the larger fog lights sport an imitation air intake design.
While the Wildlander's front end is remarkably unconventional, its side and rear profiles bear closer resemblance to the RAV4. Notable features include the ring-shaped taillight internals and the addition of a fog light at the lower end of the rear bumper. Both the fuel and hybrid models boast a dual exhaust layout, emphasizing a blend of performance and aesthetics.
The dimensions of the Wildlander are 4665 mm in length, 1855 mm in width, and 1680 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2690 mm. This places the vehicle firmly within the mainstream size range for its segment, aligning closely with the dimensions of the Rongfang while maintaining a distinct shape.
Inside, the Wildlander's interior mirrors that of the Rongfeng, featuring a multi-linear center control design that is both visually simple and functionally distinct. The 10.1-inch floating center control screen adds a modern touch, and buyers can choose between dark and light-colored interior options to suit their preferences.
The entry-level model of the 2024 Toyota Wildlander (2.0-liter CVT two-drive lead) is competitively priced and now includes front and rear parking radar, the TSS Toyota Intelligence Safety System, which encompasses full-speed adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, departure warning, active braking, and more.
The premium model elevates the driving experience with features such as 360-degree panoramic images, electric rear doors, front seat heating/ventilation, 4G network connectivity, mobile app remote control, and the advanced HUD head-up display system.
Safety is paramount in the Wildlander, which comes standard with 7 SRS airbags across all configurations. Additionally, it includes the latest Toyota TSS (Toyota Safety System) version 2.0, ensuring state-of-the-art protection. The Wildlander offers three powertrain options: a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine, a 2.5-liter gas-electric hybrid, and a 2.5-liter plug-in hybrid. The 2.0-liter engine delivers 126 kW of power and 209 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT transmission. The 2.5-liter dual-engine hybrid system boasts 163 kW of power, with an EV mode and E-Four four-wheel drive. The high-performance plug-in hybrid version features a 2.5-liter engine with 132 kW of power and 224 Nm of torque, supported by a 134 kW electric motor with 270 Nm of torque, matched with an E-CVT transmission.
