On 28 May 2024, the Seal 06 DM-i, a cutting-edge mid-sized car from BYD Ocean, was officially unveiled. This avant-garde vehicle leverages the fifth generation of DM-i technology and comes in two pure electric range versions: 80 km and 120 km. The dimensions of the car are 4830 mm in length, 1875 mm in width, and 1495 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2790 mm. It offers rim options of 16 inches, 17 inches, and 18 inches. The front of the car features an innovative design with integrated diversion fins and a prominent 'big mouth' front grille, while the sides boast semi-hidden door handles. At the rear, the taillight group has a sleek through-through design, complemented by a blackened light shell.

The Seal 06 DM-i dazzles with a through-through taillight and a redesigned interior that illuminates a 'BYD' logo. The rear styling mirrors the front, with added body-colored trim and a diffuser design. This model comes in four stunning colors: Qinhai Green, Warm Smoke Tea, Atlantis Gray, and Snow White.

 

In terms of endurance, the Seal 06 DM-i is outfitted with two types of lithium iron phosphate blade batteries: 10.08 KWH and 15.874 KWH. Corresponding pure electric ranges under CLTC conditions are 80 kilometers and 120 kilometers, respectively. Fuel consumption under NEDC conditions is a remarkable 2.9 liters and 3.08 liters per 100 kilometers. The 120 km model supports 22 kW DC fast charging and 6.6 kW AC slow charging, and even includes a 7 kW household charging pile. The 80 km model is equipped with a 3.3 kW AC slow charge.

Seal 06 DM-i is lavishly configured with original ETC, 6 airbags, rear outlets, and tire pressure monitoring. The 120 km model is enhanced with a panoramic sunroof, DiPilot driver assistance system, remote airbag, 4-way electric adjustment for the passenger seat, and a car tachorecorder. The top-tier model further elevates the experience with an 8-speaker system, ventilation/heating for front seats, 8-way electric adjustment with memory for the main seat, induction wipers, and a PM2.5 green cleaning system.
 

Seal 06 DM-i features an 8.8-inch full LCD instrument panel and a 15.6-inch rotating entertainment system. This host supports OTA remote online upgrades, CarPlay, mobile Internet functionality, online video viewing, and more. The multi-functional steering wheel, ambient lighting, advanced audio system, electronic shift lever, wireless charging pad, and electric adjustable leather seats (with 8-way electric adjustment) add to the vehicle's premium feel.

The interior showcases a family-style design, equipped with a D-type multifunction steering wheel, floating LCD instrument cluster, and central control screen. It integrates the DiLink intelligent network connection system. The central channel function area is furnished with a crystal shift lever, housing automatic parking and driving mode buttons.

 

BYD SEAL 06 DM-i is also packed with advanced active safety equipment, ensuring peace of mind on the road. These features include automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane departure assistance, side blind spot detection, active cruise control, and a 360-degree camera with recording functionality.

The powertrain combines a 1.5L engine with an electric motor. The driving motor in the 80 km pure electric range model offers a maximum power of 120 kW and includes a 10.08 KWH lithium iron phosphate battery pack, delivering fuel consumption of just 2.9 L / 100 km under NEDC conditions. The 120 km pure electric endurance model features a driving motor with a peak power of 160 kW and a 15.87 KWH lithium iron phosphate battery pack, with fuel consumption rated at 3.08 L / 100 km under NEDC conditions.
