On 28 May 2024, the illustrious Seal 06 DM-i, a new mid-sized marvel from the BYD Ocean series, was officially launched. This groundbreaking vehicle incorporates the state-of-the-art fifth generation of DM-i technology and is offered in two impressive pure electric range variants: 80 km and 120 km. The Seal 06 DM-i boasts a sleek and stylish body with dimensions of 4830 mm in length, 1875 mm in width, and 1495 mm in height, along with a spacious wheelbase of 2790 mm. It comes with a choice of 16-inch, 17-inch, or 18-inch rims. The striking front design features aerodynamic diversion fins seamlessly integrated with a bold 'big mouth' front grille, while the sides flaunt semi-hidden door handles. At the rear, the car sports a through-through light group with a sophisticated blackened light shell.
The Seal 06 DM-i impresses with its through-through taillight and a redesigned interior featuring an illuminated 'BYD' logo. The rear design mirrors the front's elegance, enhanced by a diffuser and body-colored trim. This vehicle is available in four stunning colors: Qinhai Green, Warm Smoke Tea, Atlantis Gray, and Snow White.
In terms of endurance, the Seal 06 DM-i is equipped with two powerful lithium iron phosphate blade battery options, with capacities of 10.08 KWH and 15.874 KWH. The respective pure electric ranges under CLTC conditions are 80 kilometers and 120 kilometers. The comprehensive fuel consumption rates are impressively low, at 2.9 liters per 100 kilometers and 3.08 liters per 100 kilometers under NEDC conditions. The 120km model supports a 22 kW DC fast charge and a 6.6 kW AC slow charge, with a 7 kW household charging pile included. The 80km model offers a 3.3 kW AC slow charge.
The Seal 06 DM-i comes loaded with cutting-edge configurations, including original ETC, 6 airbags, rear outlet, and tire pressure monitoring. The 120 km model adds a panoramic sunroof, the DiPilot driver assistance system, a remote airbag, 4-way electric adjustment for the passenger seat, and a car tachorecorder. The top-tier model offers an 8-speaker system, front seat ventilation/heating, 8-way electric adjustment for the main seat with memory, induction wipers, and a PM2.5 green cleaning system.
The Seal 06 DM-i features an 8.8-inch full LCD instrument panel, a 15.6-inch rotating entertainment screen (supporting OTA remote online upgrades, CarPlay, mobile internet function, online video viewing, etc.), a multifunctional steering wheel, ambient lighting, advanced audio, an electronic shift lever, a wireless charging pad, and electrically adjustable leather seats with 8-way electric adjustment. The interior of the Seal 06 DM-i embraces a family-style design and is equipped with a D-type multifunction steering wheel, a floating LCD instrument panel, and a central control screen.
