On 28 May 2024, Seal 06 DM-i, a new mid-sized car from BYD Ocean, was officially launched. This stunning vehicle boasts the fifth generation of DM-i technology and comes in two pure electric range variants of 80 km and 120 km. The chassis dimensions are 4830 mm in length, 1875 mm in width, and 1495 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2790 mm. It offers a choice of 16-inch, 17-inch, and 18-inch rims. The front design features aerodynamic diversion fins and an eye-catching 'big mouth' front grille. The car's side profile is highlighted by semi-hidden door handles, while the rear end sports a through-type light group with blackened light shells.

The Seal 06 DM-i is designed with a striking through-type taillight and an updated interior featuring an illuminated 'BYD' logo. The rear design mirrors the front, with added diffuser elements and body-colored trims. It will be offered in four captivating colors: Qinhai Green, Warm Smoke Tea, Atlantis Gray, and Snow White.

 

Regarding endurance, the Seal 06 DM-i is equipped with two types of lithium iron phosphate blade batteries, boasting capacities of 10.08 KWH and 15.874 KWH. These provide pure electric ranges of 80 km and 120 km under CLTC conditions, respectively. The comprehensive fuel consumption under NEDC conditions is 2.9 liters and 3.08 liters per 100 kilometers. The 120 km model supports 22 kW DC fast charging and 6.6 kW AC slow charging (a 7 kW household charging pile is included). The 80 km model offers 3.3 kW AC slow charging.

In terms of features, the Seal 06 DM-i includes original ETC, 6 airbags, rear air vents, tire pressure monitoring, and more. The 120 km variant adds a panoramic sunroof, DiPilot driver assistance system, remote airbag, passenger seat with 4-way electric adjustment, and an in-car tachorecorder. The top model is outfitted with an 8-speaker system, ventilated/heated front seats, an 8-way electrically adjustable main seat with memory, rain-sensing wipers, and a PM2.5 green cleaning system.
 

The Seal 06 DM-i features an 8.8-inch full LCD instrument panel and a 15.6-inch rotating entertainment host that supports OTA remote online upgrades, Carplay, mobile internet functions, and online video streaming. It also includes a multi-functional steering wheel, ambient lighting, high-quality audio system, electronic shift lever, wireless charging pad, and electrically adjustable leather seats with 8-way adjustment.

The interior design embraces a modern family style, featuring a D-type multi-function steering wheel, floating LCD instrument, and central control screen. It comes with the built-in DiLink intelligent network connection system. The central console area includes a stylish crystal shift lever, which combines automatic parking and driving mode buttons.

 

Regarding safety, the BYD Seal 06 DM-i is equipped with advanced active safety features, including automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, side blind spot detection, active cruise control, and a 360-degree camera with recording capabilities, ensuring a high level of safety.

The power system of the Seal 06 DM-i includes a 1.5L engine and an electric motor. The driving motor in the 80 km variant delivers a maximum power of 120 kW, paired with a 10.08 KWH lithium iron phosphate battery pack, achieving a fuel consumption rate of 2.9 L/100 km under NEDC conditions. The 120 km variant features a driving motor with a maximum power of 160 kW and a 15.87 KWH lithium iron phosphate battery pack, with a fuel consumption rate of 3.08 L/100 km under NEDC conditions.
