On July 25, 2024, the highly anticipated Song L DM-i, a fresh addition to the BYD Dynasty lineup, made its grand debut. This state-of-the-art model features the latest interior and exterior design elements of the Dynasty range and is powered by BYD's cutting-edge fifth-generation DM hybrid technology.
In terms of exterior design, the Song L DM-i epitomizes the latest family aesthetics. Its front design bears a striking resemblance to the Qin L DM-i, with sleek, narrow headlights linked by elegant silver panels. Beneath the polygonal air intake grille, a lattice-style silver trim adorns the interior, complemented by air intakes on either side. The front perimeter is accentuated with trapezoidal air intakes and stylish silver trim, creating a sophisticated and modern look.
The side profile of the Song L DM-i is elegantly simplistic, featuring pronounced front and rear wheel arches. The B/C pillar is tastefully painted in black, while the upper window to the D-pillar is embellished with silver accents. Notable features include hidden door handles and rear-window privacy glass. The rear design is distinguished by a continuous light belt and a luminous 'BYD' logo, with a 'Chinese knot' style interior lamp design. Additionally, the rear sports a two-stage spoiler, and the lower section is finished in black and silver. Measuring 4780/1898/1670 mm in length, width, and height, with a 2782 mm wheelbase, this vehicle commands attention.
The interior of the Song L DM-i mirrors the design ethos of the Qin L DM-i, featuring a penetrating high-gloss black trim plate and a large-size full-LCD instrument cluster at the front. The 112km model boasts a 12.8-inch adaptive suspension center control screen, while the 160km model is equipped with an expansive 15.6-inch center control screen, ensuring unparalleled user experience.
At the configuration level, the 75km leading model of the Song L DM-i comes loaded with an array of active and passive safety systems, including constant speed cruise, 360-degree panoramic video, tire pressure monitoring, and more. It also features a 6-way power-adjustable main driver seat, rear seat backrest angle adjustment, rear/rear windshield privacy glass, VTOL mobile power station, panoramic sunroof, roof rack, in-vehicle ETC, rear air outlets, automatic dual-zone climate control, a 6-speaker sound system, and a 3.3 kW AC charging port.
The Song L DM-i 112km leading model elevates the experience with the addition of 26 kW DC fast charging, the advanced DiLink 100 intelligent cockpit, 5G vehicle networking, and an 8-speaker audio system.
The Song L DM-i 112km Beyond model further enhances driving intelligence with the Dipilot5 system, adding a forward-looking camera and three millimeter-wave radars. These support advanced functions such as adaptive cruise, intelligent navigation, traffic sign recognition, automatic emergency braking, collision reminders, blind spot monitoring, lane departure alerts, and suppression. Additional features include driver facial recognition, simulated road environment display, driver fatigue/distraction monitoring, 31-color ambient lighting, heated steering wheel, 8-way power-adjustable main seat, 4-way power-adjustable passenger seat, front seat heating/ventilation, 50-watt wireless phone charging, and an electric rear door.
The Song L DM-i 160km Over model introduces a larger battery pack for an extended pure electric range. It supports 54 kW DC fast charging and 6.6 kW AC charging for quicker recharge times. Enhanced features include FSD frequency variable damping shock absorbers, intelligent 3D depth of field ambient lighting, automatic anti-glare interior mirrors, PM2.5 air purification system, dynamic welcome lights, and 19-inch low-resistance rims, making it a top-tier choice for discerning drivers.
