On July 25, 2024, the Song L DM-i, a cutting-edge model from the prestigious BYD Dynasty series, officially made its grand debut. This innovative SUV embraces the latest interior and exterior design trends of the Dynasty line and boasts BYD's advanced fifth-generation DM hybrid technology.
In terms of aesthetics, the Song L DM-i epitomizes the latest in family-style design. Its front end exudes elegance, mirroring the previously launched Qin LDM-i. Sleek, elongated headlights are seamlessly connected by refined silver panels. Beneath the polygonal air intake grille, a lattice-style silver trim enhances its sophisticated look, complemented by additional air intakes on both sides. The front perimeter is accentuated with trapezoidal air intakes and stylish silver trim, making a striking visual statement.
The side profile of the Song LDM-i exudes simplicity and elegance. The pronounced wheel arches at both the front and rear add a dynamic touch, while the B/C pillars, decked in black, and the silver-accented upper window to D-pillar exude sophistication. Hidden door handles and rear privacy glass maintain a sleek appearance. The rear features an eye-catching penetrable light belt and a luminous 'BYD' logo, with the lamp chamber intricately designed in a 'Chinese knot' style. A dual-stage spoiler adorns the roof, and the rear envelope is elegantly highlighted in black and silver. The vehicle measures 4780/1898/1670 mm in length, width, and height, with a 2782 mm wheelbase.
Inside the Song LDM-i, luxury meets technology. The interior's design, akin to the Qin LDM-i, includes a continuous high-gloss black trim plate and a generously-sized full-LCD instrument panel in front of the driver. The 112 km model features a 12.8-inch adaptive suspension center control screen, while the 160 km model boasts a larger 15.6-inch center control screen, ensuring a state-of-the-art driving experience.
At the configuration level, the Song LDM-i 75 km leading model is a marvel of modern engineering. The Song LDM-i 112 km Beyond model further enhances the leading model with the dipilot5 intelligent driving system. This includes an additional forward-looking camera and three millimeter-wave radars, enabling advanced driving functions such as adaptive cruise control, intelligent navigation, traffic sign recognition, automatic emergency braking, collision warnings, blind spot monitoring, lane departure alerts, and lane-keeping assistance. The Song L DM-i 160 km Over model surpasses the 112 km model with an even larger battery pack, extending its pure electric range. It supports 54 kW DC fast charging and 6.6 kW AC charging, significantly reducing charge times. Additionally, it features FSD frequency variable damping shock absorbers, intelligent 3D depth of field ambient lighting, automatic anti-glare interior mirrors, a PM2.5 green cleaning system, dynamic welcome lights, and upgraded 19-inch low resistance rims for enhanced performance.
