On 28 May 2024, the magnificent Seal 06 DM-i, a stunning new mid-sized marvel from BYD Ocean, was officially unveiled. This advanced vehicle incorporates the cutting-edge fifth generation DM-i technology, available in two impressive pure electric range options: 80 km and 120 km. The vehicle dimensions are 4830 mm in length, 1875 mm in width, and 1495 mm in height, with a wheelbase stretching to 2790 mm. Choose from elegant 16-inch, 17-inch, or 18-inch rims. The front exudes sophistication with integrated diversion fins and a bold 'big mouth' grille, while the sides feature sleek semi-hidden door handles. The rear is adorned with a striking through-through light design, enhanced by a blackened light shell.
The Seal 06 DM-i boasts a seamlessly integrated through-through taillight, complemented by a reimagined interior featuring an illuminated 'BYD' logo. The rear design harmonizes with the front, incorporating a stylish diffuser and body-colored trim elements. Available in four stunning hues - Qinhai Green, Warm Smoke Tea, Atlantis Gray, and Snow White - this vehicle makes a statement of elegance and innovation.
In terms of endurance, the Seal 06 DM-i is powered by two varieties of advanced lithium iron phosphate blade batteries, offering capacities of 10.08 KWH and 15.874 KWH. These deliver impressive pure electric ranges of 80 kilometers and 120 kilometers under CLTC conditions. The vehicle's comprehensive fuel consumption is notably efficient, registering at 2.9 liters and 3.08 liters per 100 kilometers under NEDC conditions. The 120km model supports rapid recharging with a 22 kW DC fast charge and 6.6 kW AC slow charge (complete with a 7 kW household charging station), while the 80km model offers a 3.3 kW AC slow charge.
Regarding configuration, Seal 06 DM-i comes equipped with original ETC, six airbags, rear air vents, and tire pressure monitoring among other features. The 120km version is enhanced with a panoramic sunroof, DiPilot driver assistance system, remote airbag, 4-way electric adjustment for the passenger seat, and a car tachorecorder. The top-tier model goes further, featuring an 8-speaker audio system, ventilated/heated front seats, 8-way electric adjustment with memory for the main seat, induction wipers, and an advanced PM2.5 green cleaning system, ensuring a luxurious and safe driving experience.
The Seal 06 DM-i is outfitted with an 8.8-inch full LCD instrument panel and a 15.6-inch rotating entertainment hub supporting OTA remote online upgrades, Carplay, mobile internet, and online video streaming. Additional luxury touches include a multifunctional steering wheel, ambient lighting, premium audio, an electronic shift lever, wireless charging pad, and electric adjustable leather seats with 8-way adjustment support.
