Recently, GAC Toyota unveiled the 2024 Toyota
Wildlander
which has officially hit the market with a remarkable lineup of 11 diverse models.
In terms of design, the Wildlander boasts a distinctive and bold exterior that sets it apart from its sibling, the FAW Toyota Rongfang. The most notable difference lies in the front face design. While it shares the same trapezoidal air intake grille shape, the Wildlander's grille is more expansive, exuding a Lexus spindle grille vibe. Its headlights are sleek and narrow, imparting a sharp, intense look. Additionally, the fog lights are designed with a larger, air intake-inspired aesthetic.
Contrary to its unconventional front, the side and rear profiles of the Wildlander bear a closer resemblance to the RAV4. The tail lights feature an intricate ring design, and a new fog light is integrated into the lower rear bumper. Both the fuel and hybrid models sport dual exhausts, emphasizing their dynamic performance.
Dimension-wise, the Wildlander measures 4665 mm in length, 1855 mm in width, and 1680 mm in height, with a 2690 mm wheelbase. These dimensions place it firmly within the mainstream of its market segment, closely mirroring the size of the Rongfang, yet with slight variations due to its unique shape.
Inside the cabin, the Wildlander's interior design mirrors that of the Rongfeng, featuring a multi-linear layout for the center control, offering a clean and organized visual appeal. The 10.1-inch floating center control screen stands out, and the car is available with both dark and light interior color options.
The base model of the 2024 Toyota Wildlander (2.0-liter CVT two-wheel drive) retains its pricing while enhancing safety features with new front and rear parking sensors and the TSS Toyota Intelligence Safety System. This system includes full-speed adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, departure warning, active braking, and additional advanced features.
The premium model of the 2024 Toyota Wildlander further elevates the experience with 360-degree panoramic cameras, electric rear doors, heated and ventilated front seats, 4G connectivity, mobile app remote control, an HUD head-up display system, and more.
One of the standout features of the Wildlander is its comprehensive safety configuration. Every model comes standard with 7 SRS airbags, ensuring maximum protection even in lower trims. The latest Toyota Safety System (TSS 2.0) is also included, showcasing Toyota's commitment to safety, as evidenced by high scores in crash tests by GAC Toyota's Leiling (Levin) and Camry (Camry).
The Wildlander offers three advanced powertrains: a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine, a 2.5-liter gas-electric hybrid, and a 2.5-liter plug-in hybrid. The 2.0-liter engine produces 126 kW and 209 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT transmission. The 2.5-liter dual-engine hybrid system delivers 163 kW, features an EV mode, and is available with the E-Four all-wheel-drive system. The high-performance plug-in hybrid variant boasts a 2.5-liter engine with 132 kW of power and 224 Nm of torque, complemented by an electric motor producing 134 kW and 270 Nm of torque, all managed by an E-CVT transmission.
