On 28 May 2024, Seal 06 DM-i, a new mid-sized car of BYD Ocean, was officially launched. The new car uses the fifth generation of DM-i technology and is available in two pure electric range versions of 80 km and 120 km. Body sizes are 4830 mm (length), 1875 mm (width), 1495 mm (height), with a wheelbase of 2790 mm. 16 inch, 17 inch and 18 inch rims are available. The front design integrates the diversion fins and the 'big mouth' front grille, the side of the car adopts the semi-hidden door handle, and the rear light group adopts a through-through design with a blackened light shell.
The Seal 06 DM-i is equipped with a through-through taillight featuring a redesigned interior with a light-emitting 'BYD' logo. The rear surrounding shape echoes the front, complemented by a diffuser design and body color trim. This sophisticated vehicle is available in four stunning colors: Qinhai Green, Warm Smoke Tea, Atlantis Gray, and Snow White.
In terms of endurance, the car boasts two specifications of lithium iron phosphate blade batteries with capacities of 10.08 KWH and 15.874 KWH. The corresponding pure electric ranges under CLTC conditions are 80 kilometers and 120 kilometers, respectively. The comprehensive fuel consumption for 100 kilometers under NEDC conditions is 2.9 liters and 3.08 liters, respectively. Additionally, the 120 km model offers 22 kW DC fast charging and 6.6 kW AC slow charging (a 7 kW household charging pile is provided with the car), while the 80 km model is equipped with 3.3 kW AC slow charging.
In terms of configuration, the Seal 06 DM-i comes standard with original ETC, 6 airbags, rear outlet, and tire pressure monitoring. The 120 km model includes a panoramic sunroof, DiPilot driver assistance system, remote airbag, and 4-way electric adjustment for the passenger seat along with a car tachorecorder. The top model is enhanced with an 8-speaker system, ventilation/heating for the front seats, 8-way electric adjustment of the main seat with memory, induction wipers, and a PM2.5 green cleaning system.
The Seal 06 DM-i features an 8.8-inch full LCD instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch rotating entertainment host (supporting OTA remote online upgrades, Carplay, mobile Internet functions, online video viewing, etc.), a multi-functional steering wheel, ambient lighting, advanced audio, electronic shift lever, wireless charging pad, and electric adjustable leather seats with 8-way electric adjustment. These features and equipment showcase the sincerity and commitment of SEAL 06.
The interior employs a family style, featuring a D-type multi-function steering wheel, floating LCD instrument, and central control screen integrated with the DiLink intelligent network connection system. The central channel function area is equipped with a crystal shift lever, which integrates automatic parking and driving mode buttons.
As for safety equipment, BYD SEAL 06 DM-i is equipped with advanced active safety features, including automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane departure assistance, side blind spot detection, active cruise control, and a 360-degree camera with a recording function, ensuring top-tier safety.
The power system comprises a 1.5L engine and a motor. The maximum power of the driving motor for the 80 km pure electric range model is 120 kW, paired with a 10.08 KWH lithium iron phosphate battery pack, yielding a fuel consumption of 2.9 L/100 km under NEDC conditions. The 120 km pure electric range model uses a drive motor with a maximum power of 160 kW, equipped with a 15.87 KWH lithium iron phosphate battery pack, and achieves a fuel consumption of 3.08 L/100 km under NEDC conditions.
