Recently, GAC Toyota unveiled the much-anticipated 2024 Toyota
Wildlander
which has now been officially launched, boasting a lineup of 11 distinct models.
In its design, the Wildlander adopts a strikingly unique style, setting it apart from its sibling, the FAW Toyota Rongfang. The most notable difference lies in the front fascia. While both models feature a trapezoidal air intake grille, the Wildlander's grille is larger, echoing the bold design of the Lexus spindle grille. The Wildlander's headlights are narrower, exuding an intense 'squinting' coldness, while the sizable fog lights mimic an air intake design.
In contrast to the distinctive front, the side and rear profiles of the Wildlander closely resemble the RAV4. Noteworthy details include the ring-shaped taillight design and the addition of a fog light at the lower end of the rear bumper. The exhaust system features a dual-sided layout, which is standard across both fuel and hybrid models.
Measuring 4665 mm in length, 1855 mm in width, and 1680 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2690 mm, the Wildlander fits comfortably within the mainstream market segment. Its dimensions are nearly identical to the Rongfang, with subtle differences arising from its unique design.
Inside the vehicle, the Wildlander's interior mirrors that of the Rongfang, featuring a multi-linear center console design that provides a clean and functional look. The 10.1-inch floating center control screen enhances the visual appeal, and the interior is available in both dark and light color schemes.
The entry-level 2024 Toyota Wildlander (2.0-liter CVT two-wheel drive) not only maintains its price point but also introduces new front and rear parking radars, the TSS Toyota Intelligence Safety System, which includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, departure warning, active braking, and more.
The premium model of the 2024 Toyota Wildlander elevates the experience with features like 360-degree panoramic cameras, electric rear doors, front seat heating and ventilation, 4G connectivity, a mobile App for remote control, and a HUD head-up display system.
A standout feature across the Wildlander range is the comprehensive safety configuration. Every model, regardless of trim level, comes standard with 7 SRS airbags and the latest generation of Toyota's TSS (Toyota Safety System) 2.0. Historically, Toyota's TNGA platform vehicles have performed exceptionally well in crash tests by the China Insurance Automobile Safety Index, with models like the Levin and Camry receiving high accolades.
The Wildlander offers three powertrain options: a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine, a 2.5-liter hybrid, and a 2.5-liter plug-in hybrid. The fuel version features a 2.0-liter engine delivering 126 kW of power and 209 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT transmission. The 2.5-liter hybrid system provides 163 kW of power, supports EV mode, and includes the E-Four all-wheel drive system. The high-performance plug-in hybrid variant boasts a 2.5-liter engine with 132 kW of power and 224 Nm of torque, complemented by an electric motor producing 134 kW and 270 Nm of torque, all managed by an E-CVT transmission.
