On July 25, 2024, the Song L DM-i, a brand-new model from the prestigious BYD Dynasty lineup, made its grand debut. This state-of-the-art vehicle showcases the latest in interior and exterior design, embodying the essence of the Dynasty series. The Song L DM-i comes equipped with BYD's pioneering fifth-generation DM hybrid technology, setting a new standard in the automotive world.
The Song L DM-i flaunts a cutting-edge family style design, exuding sophistication and modernity. The front design mirrors the iconic Qin L DM-i, featuring sleek, long headlamps connected by elegant silver panels. Beneath the polygonal air intake grille, a lattice-style silver trim adds a touch of refinement, flanked by side air intakes. Trapezoidal air intakes and additional silver trim enhance the front perimeter, creating a harmonious and dynamic visual impression.
The side profile of the Song L DM-i is minimalist yet striking, with pronounced front and rear wheel arches. The B/C pillars are stylishly painted black, while the upper window to the D-pillar is adorned with silver accents. The car features hidden door handles and privacy glass in the rear windows. At the rear, a captivating light strip and illuminated 'BYD' logo, along with a 'Chinese knot' style lamp design, steal the show. A two-stage spoiler crowns the roof, and the rear envelope boasts a sophisticated black and silver finish. The dimensions are impressive: 4780/1898/1670 mm (length/width/height) and a wheelbase of 2782 mm.
Inside, the Song L DM-i mirrors the refined design of the Qin L DM-i. It features a sleek, high-gloss black trim plate and a sizeable full-LCD instrument panel at the forefront. The 112 km model is equipped with a 12.8-inch adaptive suspension center control screen, while the 160 km model boasts an even larger 15.6-inch screen, ensuring a high-tech and luxurious driving experience.
In terms of configuration, the 75 km leading model of the Song L DM-i comes fully loaded with an array of active and passive safety systems, cruise control, 360-degree panoramic video, tire pressure monitoring, and 6-way power adjustment for the driver's seat. Additional features include rear seat backrest angle adjustment, privacy glass for the rear windows, VTOL mobile power station, panoramic sunroof, roof rack, in-vehicle ETC, rear air outlet, automatic dual-zone air conditioning, a 6-speaker sound system, and a 3.3 kW AC charging port.
The 112 km leading model elevates the driving experience with a 26 kW DC charging capability and the advanced DiLink 100 intelligent cockpit. This model also introduces 5G vehicle networking and an enhanced 8-speaker audio system, further pushing the boundaries of innovation and convenience.
Building on the leading model, the 112 km beyond model of the Song L DM-i integrates the sophisticated Dipilot5 intelligent driving system. This includes an additional forward-looking camera and three millimeter-wave radars, supporting advanced functions such as adaptive cruise control, intelligent navigation, traffic sign recognition, automatic emergency braking, and collision monitoring. Safety features abound, with driver facial recognition, driver fatigue/distraction monitoring, 31-color ambient lighting, steering wheel heating, and numerous seat adjustment and comfort options, including wireless phone charging and an electric rear door.
The pinnacle of the Song L DM-i series, the 160 km Over model, features an upgraded battery pack with an extended pure electric range. It supports fast 54 kW DC charging and 6.6 kW AC charging, significantly reducing charging time. This model is further enhanced with FSD frequency variable damping shock absorbers, intelligent 3D depth-of-field ambient lighting, automatic anti-glare rearview mirrors, a PM2.5 green cleaning system, dynamic welcome lights, and 19-inch low wind resistance rims, setting a new benchmark for luxury and performance.
