BYD's stunning new mid-size sedan, the Qin L DM-i, has been officially unveiled with an impressive lineup of 5 distinct models. Positioned as a premium offering above the Qin PLUS DM-i, this automobile showcases the pinnacle of BYD's pioneering fifth-generation DM (plug-in hybrid) technology. Additionally, BYD introduces the latest addition to the Ocean Network lineup, the Seal 06 DM-i, launched concurrently.
In terms of aesthetics, the Qin L DM-i epitomizes the 'Longyan Design Aesthetics' of the Dynasty Net model. The vehicle flaunts a sleeker, more streamlined look, complemented by a newly styled headlight ensemble and eye-catching bright black decorative panels. The front grille stands out with its significant size, featuring a dot matrix chrome trim and strategically placed ventilation slots on either side, enhancing the vehicle's sporty appeal compared to the Qin PLUS. Four exquisite body colors are available: Ice Green, Jianyao Purple, Runyu White, and Tea Crystal Grey, allowing for a personalized touch.
From the side view, the Qin L DM-i boasts a dynamic two-stage waistline with a refined sloping design towards the rear. The back of the car is adorned with a state-of-the-art through-type light strip, and the tail lights intricately feature a 'Chinese knot' pattern, illuminated by the 'BYD' English logo. Dimension-wise, the Qin L DM-i measures 4830 mm in length, 1900 mm in width, and 1495 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2790 mm. Compared to the Qin PLUS DM-i, this model has increased by 65 mm in length, 63 mm in width, and 72 mm in wheelbase, while maintaining the same height.
Inside, the Qin L DM-i offers a choice of two sophisticated interior colors: Haoyue Mi and Xuanwu Grey. The center console is designed with a minimalist approach, featuring an 8.8-inch full LCD instrument panel with an elegant embedded design. Depending on the model, the floating center console screen comes in three sizes: 10.1-inch, 12.8-inch, and 15.6-inch, all integrated with the advanced DiLink intelligent networking system.
The Qin L DM-i harnesses BYD's revolutionary fifth-generation DM technology, equipped with an advanced plug-in hybrid system that combines a 1.5-liter engine and a robust drive motor. The 1.5-liter engine delivers a maximum power of 74 kW, while the drive motor provides two peak power options of 120 kW and 160 kW, reaching speeds up to 180 km/h. The vehicle is available with two lithium iron phosphate blade battery specifications, offering capacities of 10.08 kWh and 15.874 kWh, enabling pure electric ranges of 80 km and 120 km under CLTC conditions. The comprehensive fuel consumption stands at an impressive 2.9 liters and 3.08 liters per 100 km under NEDC conditions. Additionally, the car features a standard front MacPherson suspension and a newly designed rear E-type four-link independent suspension, guaranteeing a smooth and controlled ride.
Strategically positioned in terms of vehicle class and pricing, the Qin L DM-i bridges the price gap between the Qin PLUS DM-i and the Han DM-i within the Dynasty Net lineup.
