On 28 May 2024, the innovative Seal 06 DM-i, a new mid-sized marvel from BYD Ocean, was officially unveiled. This cutting-edge vehicle features the fifth generation of DM-i technology and offers two pure electric range options: 80 km and 120 km. With a body measuring 4830 mm in length, 1875 mm in width, and 1495 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2790 mm, it provides ample space and comfort. Customers can choose from 16-inch, 17-inch, and 18-inch rim sizes. The front design boasts aerodynamic diversion fins and a striking 'big mouth' front grille, while the side profile features semi-hidden door handles. The rear light group adopts a sleek through-through design with a blackened light shell for a modern aesthetic.
The Seal 06 DM-i is adorned with a sophisticated through-through taillight that incorporates a redesigned interior with a glowing 'BYD' logo. The rear design harmonizes with the front, featuring a diffuser and body color trim accents. The vehicle will be available in four stunning color options: Qinhai Green, Warm Smoke Tea, Atlantis Gray, and Snow White.
Regarding endurance, the Seal 06 DM-i is equipped with two variants of lithium iron phosphate blade batteries, offering capacities of 10.08 KWH and 15.874 KWH. Under CLTC conditions, these batteries provide pure electric ranges of 80 kilometers and 120 kilometers, respectively. The comprehensive fuel consumption under NEDC conditions is 2.9 liters and 3.08 liters per 100 kilometers. The 120km model supports a 22 kW DC fast charge and a 6.6 kW AC slow charge, with a 7 kW household charging pile included. The 80km model offers a 3.3 kW AC slow charge.
In terms of configuration, the Seal 06 DM-i offers an array of standard features, including original ETC, 6 airbags, rear air outlets, and tire pressure monitoring. The 120 km model adds high-end amenities such as a panoramic sunroof, DiPilot driver assistance system, remote airbag, passenger seat with 4-way electric adjustment, and an in-car tachorecorder. The top-tier model features an 8-speaker system, ventilated/heated front seats, 8-way electric adjustment with memory for the main seat, induction wipers, and a PM2.5 green cleaning system.
The Seal 06 DM-i is equipped with a luxurious 8.8-inch full LCD instrument panel, a 15.6-inch rotating entertainment system (supporting OTA remote online upgrades, CarPlay, mobile internet functions, and online video viewing), a multi-functional steering wheel, ambient lighting, premium audio, an electronic shift lever, and a wireless charging pad. The electric adjustable leather seats support 8-way electric adjustment, ensuring a comfortable and elegant driving experience.
The interior boasts a family-style design with a D-type multi-function steering wheel, floating LCD instrument panel, and central control screen. It integrates the advanced DiLink intelligent network connection system. The central channel function area features a crystal shift lever, which includes buttons for automatic parking and driving modes.
When it comes to safety, the BYD Seal 06 DM-i is equipped with advanced active safety features such as automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane departure assistance, side blind spot detection, active cruise control, and a 360-degree camera with a recording function, ensuring maximum safety for all occupants.
The power system of the Seal 06 DM-i consists of a 1.5L engine paired with a motor. The 80km pure electric range model features a driving motor with a maximum power output of 120 kW and a 10.08 KWH lithium iron phosphate battery pack, achieving a fuel consumption rate of 2.9 L/100 km under NEDC conditions. The 120km pure electric endurance model boasts a driving motor with a maximum power of 160 kW, equipped with a 15.87 KWH lithium iron phosphate battery pack, and a fuel consumption rate of 3.08 L/100 km under NEDC conditions.
