In terms of design, the Wildlander boasts a unique aesthetic that sets it apart from its FAW Toyota Rongfang counterpart. One of the most striking features is its front façade. Despite sharing a trapezoidal grille, the Wildlander's is notably larger, evoking a sophisticated Lexus spindle grille vibe. The headlights are sleek and narrow, exuding a cool, 'squinting' look. Additionally, the fog lights are designed to mimic air intakes, enhancing its aggressive stance.
While the front face of the Wildlander is bold and unconventional, the side and rear profiles bear a closer resemblance to the RAV4. Noteworthy distinctions include a ring-shaped taillight design and an additional fog light at the lower rear bumper. Both fuel and hybrid models feature a dual exhaust layout, giving the Wildlander a sporty edge.
Regarding dimensions, the Wildlander measures 4665 mm in length, 1855 mm in width, and 1680 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2690 mm. These dimensions are competitive within the segment and closely align with those of the Rongfang, though the Wildlander's unique shape gives it a distinct presence.
Inside, the Wildlander's interior mirrors that of the Rongfeng, featuring a multi-linear design for the center console, which offers a clean visual effect and clear functional divisions. The centerpiece is a 10.1-inch floating touchscreen. Buyers can choose between dark and light interior color options to suit their style.
The base model (2.0-liter CVT two-wheel drive) is priced competitively and includes advanced features such as front and rear parking radar and the TSS Toyota Intelligent Safety system. This package includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, departure warning, and active braking, ensuring superior safety.
The premium model elevates the experience with 360-degree panoramic imaging, electric rear doors, heated and ventilated front seats, 4G connectivity, remote control via a mobile app, and a sophisticated HUD head-up display system.
Safety is paramount in the Wildlander, which comes standard with seven SRS airbags across all configurations. The latest Toyota TSS (Toyota Safety System) 2.0 technology is also standard, offering unparalleled safety. In crash tests by the China Insurance Automobile Safety Index, Toyota's TNGA platform vehicles, including the Leiling (Levin) and Camry, have consistently achieved high scores.
The Wildlander is available with three powertrains: a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine, a 2.5-liter hybrid, and a 2.5-liter plug-in hybrid. The 2.0-liter engine delivers 126 kW and 209 Nm of torque with a CVT transmission. The 2.5-liter hybrid system provides 163 kW, includes an EV mode, and offers the E-Four AWD system. The high-performance 2.5-liter plug-in hybrid variant achieves a combined engine power of 132 kW and 224 Nm of torque, supplemented by an electric motor offering 134 kW and 270 Nm of torque, paired with an E-CVT transmission.
