Recently, GAC Toyota has proudly introduced the highly anticipated 2024 Toyota
Wildlander
which has been officially launched, featuring an impressive lineup of 11 distinct models.
In terms of exterior design, the Wildlander distinguishes itself with an exceptionally unique style, setting it apart from its sibling, the FAW Toyota Rongfang. The most striking difference lies in the front fascia design. While both share a trapezoidal air intake grille, the Wildlander sports a larger version, evoking the elegant spindle grille reminiscent of Lexus. Additionally, the Wildlander's headlights are narrower, exuding a sleek and sophisticated 'squinting' coolness. Furthermore, the fog lights are designed with a larger imitation air intake style, enhancing its commanding presence.
Compared to the distinctive front, the side and rear profiles of the Wildlander show fewer differences from the RAV4. Notably, the taillights feature a unique ring-shaped internal design, and the rear bumper is enhanced with an added fog light on the lower end. The dual-sided exhaust layout is standard across both fuel and hybrid models, emphasizing its robust engineering.
Regarding dimensions, the Wildlander measures 4665 mm in length, 1855 mm in width, and 1680 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2690 mm. These dimensions place it comfortably within the mainstream segment and are largely consistent with the Rongfang, though slight variations exist due to the differing design philosophies.
Stepping inside, the interior of the Wildlander mirrors the design ethos of the Rongfeng, featuring a multi-linear center control layout for a clean and functional aesthetic. The 10.1-inch floating center control screen stands out, providing a sleek visual effect and clear functional partitions. The interior is available in both dark and light color schemes, catering to diverse aesthetic preferences.
The 2024 Toyota Wildlander entry model (2.0-liter CVT two-drive lead) maintains the same pricing but introduces new features including front and rear parking radar and the advanced TSS Toyota Intelligence safety system. This comprehensive system includes full-speed adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, departure warning, active braking, and more, ensuring maximum safety and convenience.
The 2024 Toyota Wildlander premium model elevates the driving experience with 360-degree panoramic imaging, electric rear doors, front seat heating/ventilation, 4G network connectivity, mobile app remote control, HUD head-up display system, and much more.
One of the Wildlander's standout features is its extensive safety configuration. The entire system comes standard with 7 SRS airbags, even in lower-tier models, maintaining the highest safety standards. The latest generation Toyota TSS 2.0 safety technology is also standard, reflecting Toyota's commitment to safety excellence. In the China Insurance Automobile Safety Index crash tests, Toyota's TNGA platform vehicles, including the GAC Toyota Levin and Camry, have consistently achieved high scores.
The Wildlander offers three versatile powertrains: a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine, a 2.5-liter gas-electric hybrid, and a 2.5-liter plug-in hybrid. The fuel variant features a 2.0-liter engine delivering a maximum power of 126 kW and a peak torque of 209 Nm, paired with a CVT transmission. The 2.5-liter dual-engine hybrid system boasts a maximum power of 163 kW, with EV pure electric mode and an E-Four four-wheel drive system for superior performance. The high-performance plug-in hybrid variant combines a 2.5-liter engine delivering 132 kW of power and 224 Nm of torque with an electric motor providing 134 kW and 270 Nm of torque, all matched with an E-CVT transmission.
