On July 25, 2024, the highly anticipated Song L DM-i, a new marvel from the BYD Dynasty lineup, officially made its grand debut. The Song L DM-i showcases an exquisite blend of the latest interior and exterior design elements characteristic of the Dynasty series and is powered by BYD's cutting-edge fifth-generation DM hybrid technology.
In terms of aesthetics, the Song L DM-i exhibits the latest familial design style. Its front design mirrors the stylistic cues of the Qin L DM-i, featuring sleek, elongated headlights interconnected by elegant silver panels. Below the polygonal air intake grille, a sophisticated lattice-style silver trim adorns the interior, complemented by functional air intakes on either side. The front perimeter is enhanced with trapezoidal air intakes and chic silver embellishments.
The side profile of the Song L DM-i is designed with a minimalist approach. Pronounced wheel arches on both the front and rear give it a bold presence. The B/C pillars are elegantly painted in black, with a touch of silver accentuating the upper window frame extending to the D-pillar. Additional highlights include hidden door handles and rear privacy glass. The rear design features a striking penetrable light belt and a luminous 'BYD' emblem. The lamp chamber is artistically crafted with a 'Chinese knot' motif. A dual-stage spoiler graces the top, and the rear apron sports a black and silver finish. Dimensions: 4780 mm (length), 1898 mm (width), 1670 mm (height), and a 2782 mm wheelbase.
The interior of the Song L DM-i echoes the sophisticated design of the Qin L DM-i, boasting a sleek high-gloss black trim plate and a prominent full-LCD instrument cluster upfront. The 112 km model comes with a 12.8-inch adaptive suspension center control screen, while the 160 km variant is furnished with a more expansive 15.6-inch center control display.
At the configuration level, the Song L DM-i 75 km leading model is replete with an array of active and passive safety systems, cruise control, 360-degree panoramic video, tire pressure monitoring, and 6-way power adjustment for the main driver seat. Additional features include adjustable rear seat backrests, rear privacy glass, a VTOL mobile power station, panoramic sunroof, roof rack, in-vehicle ETC, rear air outlets, automatic dual temperature zone air conditioning, a 6-speaker sound system, and a 3.3 kW AC charging port.
The Song L DM-i 112 km leading model builds upon the 75 km variant, incorporating a 26 kW DC charging capability, DiLink 100 intelligent cockpit advanced version, 5G vehicle networking, and an enhanced 8-speaker audio system.
The Song L DM-i 112 km Beyond model elevates the driving experience with the Dipilot5 intelligent driving system, featuring an array of advancements such as an additional forward-looking camera and three millimeter-wave radars. These enhancements support adaptive cruise control, intelligent navigation, traffic sign recognition, automatic emergency braking, collision alerts, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warnings, and more. The model further includes driver facial recognition, instrument road environment simulation display, driver fatigue/distraction monitoring, 31-color ambient lighting, heated steering wheel, 8-way electric adjustment for the main seat, 4-way electric adjustment for the passenger seat, front seat heating/ventilation, 50-watt wireless phone charging, and an electric rear door.
The Song L DM-i 160 km Over model boasts a larger battery pack, extending its pure electric driving range. This variant supports 54 kW DC fast charging and 6.6 kW AC charging, ensuring quicker charge times. Additional enhancements include FSD frequency variable damping shock absorbers, intelligent 3D depth of field ambient lights, automatic anti-glare interior mirrors, a PM2.5 green cleaning system, dynamic welcome lights, and upgraded 19-inch low-resistance rims.
