Recently, GAC Toyota unveiled the 2024 Toyota
Wildlander Hybrid Electric Car,
officially launched with an impressive lineup of 11 models.
The Wildlander's design stands out with a unique front face, distinguishing it from its sibling, the FAW Toyota Rongfang. The larger trapezoidal air intake grille evokes a Lexus spindle design, complemented by narrower, 'squinting' headlights exuding a cool, assertive look. Notably, the larger fog lights feature an imitation air intake design.
While the side and rear designs align closely with the RAV4, the Wildlander sports distinct ring-shaped taillights and a rear bumper with added fog lights. Both fuel and hybrid versions utilize a two-sided exhaust layout.
In terms of dimensions, the Wildlander measures 4665 mm in length, 1855 mm in width, and 1680 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2690 mm, placing it comfortably within the mainstream market segment. Its overall size is comparable to the Rongfang, albeit with slight variations due to design differences.
Inside, the Wildlander mirrors the Rongfeng with a multi-linear center control design for a clean, functional look. The 10.1-inch floating center control screen is a highlight. Interior color options include both dark and light versions.
The entry-level 2024 Toyota Wildlander (2.0-liter CVT two-wheel drive) retains its price while adding features like front and rear parking radar and the TSS Toyota Intelligence Safety System, which includes full-speed adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, departure warning, active braking, and more.
The premium model enhances your driving experience with 360-degree panoramic images, electric rear doors, front seat heating/ventilation, 4G network, mobile app remote control, and a HUD head-up display system.
Safety is paramount in the Wildlander, with standard 7 SRS airbags across all models and the latest Toyota TSS 2.0 safety technology. GAC Toyota's vehicles, including the Leiling (Levin) and Camry, have excelled in China Insurance Automobile Safety Index crash tests.
The Wildlander offers three powertrains: a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine delivering 126 kW and 209 Nm of torque with a CVT, a 2.5-liter hybrid system producing 163 kW, featuring EV mode and E-Four four-wheel drive, and a high-performance 2.5-liter plug-in hybrid system with 132 kW engine power, 224 Nm torque, and a 134 kW electric motor with 270 Nm torque, paired with an E-CVT transmission.
